Here's how:
  • Submit faster: Generate proposals in seconds instead of 15-20 minutes

What you'll need:
  • Access to your Upwork profile (to copy/paste)
  • 5-10 minutes to complete setup (we know, we know - but trust us, it's worth it!)

Phase 1: Import Your Upwork Profile

Instructions:
  1. Click your name in Upwork to go to your profile
  2. Press Ctrl+A (or Cmd+A on Mac) to select everything
  3. Press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C) to copy
  4. Paste below (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V)

Phase 2: Your Communication Sample

Write or speak about what you do for 2-10 minutes.

Don't edit yourself, just let it flow naturally. We're capturing your authentic voice, not a polished pitch. Talk about:
  • What you do as a freelancer
  • Who you work with (types of clients)
  • What makes you different from others
  • Your process or approach
  • What you love (or don't love) about your work
The more you share, the better we capture your voice. But even 2-3 minutes worth is valuable.

Phase 5: Job Preferences

This helps the Job Scanner (coming later) filter email alerts. Even if you're only interested in proposal generation now, filling this out means you won't have to repeat setup when Scanner launches.
BidBoost understands multiple variations of job descriptions, so you don't need to list every possible way a client might phrase it. Just describe the general types of work you're looking for.

Phase 6: Custom Proposal Elements

This is your chance to customize how your proposals are written. You can skip this if you're happy with the defaults, but most freelancers have something they like to include in every proposal.

Proposal Preferences

Tell us anything you want BidBoost to consider when writing your proposals. These are guidelines, not exact text. BidBoost will weave these preferences in naturally where they fit best.
Examples:
  • "Always mention my 100% Job Success Score near the beginning"
  • "Reference my Microsoft experience when the job involves enterprise clients"
  • "Keep my proposals under 200 words unless the job is complex"
  • "Emphasize that I'm US-based and available during business hours"
  • "Don't mention my hourly rate unless the client asks about it"
  • "Lead with empathy about their problem before talking about my experience"
  • "When relevant, mention that I offer a free initial consultation"
  • "When asked for portfolio links, mention my website (example.com) and explain that my enterprise tutorial work demonstrates the same production principles even if the format differs"

Exact Elements

Some things need to appear exactly as you write them, word for word. For each entry, tell us WHERE it goes and put the EXACT TEXT in quotation marks. BidBoost will not modify or "improve" these.
Examples:
  • At the end, before my name: "Looking forward to making great things together."
  • As my closing salutation: "Cheers,"
  • In my opening paragraph: "I read your complete job post."
  • At the very end after my name: "P.S. I respond to all messages within 2 hours."
  • Before my sign-off: "Happy to hop on a quick call if that's easier."
